Dear Parents,
This year at MS7 we will be using the iReady online assessment and instruction program in Language Arts and Math classes. One of the most universally accepted best practices that the teachers at MS7 follow is to address individual student needs by evaluating relevant data and using that data to drive their instruction. This has been especially challenging since we began remote learning in March. The IReady program will not only help address this challenge while students are learning remotely, but will also work seamlessly into regular in-person learning as well.
IReady begins with a comprehensive diagnostic assessment to determine a student's individual levels within different areas of reading and math. The first diagnostic was given in the beginning of October. Your child's teacher will review their results with you during upcoming conferences. Students are now receiving individualized online lessons at their instructional levels that are assigned directly from the program. Your child's teacher will also assign two additional lessons weekly. Please read the attached guidance, including an informative video outlining the program and how you can support your child at home for when they are using IReady.
