Principal's Message

Welcome to Franklin L. Williams Middle School 7, home of the Sharks!  I am so happy that you decided to visit our school’s website to learn more about our amazing students and staff.  As the district’s middle school bilingual hub, we pride ourselves on our diversity with over 24 languages spoken in our school.  To address the diverse needs of our students, we focus on offering a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become creative problem solvers and thinkers in our ever-changing world.  Our school is dedicated to providing students with a well-rounded education that includes a variety of instructional programs and exceptional visual and performing arts programs.  In addition to our instructional programs, we offer a wide variety of after-school programs and clubs such as academic assistance, PSAT preparation, Choir and Band, Art, Lego Robotics, STEAM club, Girls that Code club, Environmental club, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, G.E.M.S (Girls Empowering Minds and Spirits), C.I.A. (Cabelleros in Action), Young Women of Excellence, Young Men of Excellence and various intramural sports (flag football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, track and fitness).  While the core curriculum is provided for all students, we believe that it is critical to enhance our students’ social and emotional skills and provide leadership opportunities.  Enhancing their social emotional skills will increase their motivation, engagement, attention, and self-regulation.  Many of our students develop leadership skills by creating and running various school programs assisted by their teacher mentors.

I encourage you to continue to visit our school website and if possible to visit our beautiful school in person.  You will find our school to be a vibrant and engaging community filled with committed teachers and learners.  Last but not least, to our parents, your participation or support is such a critical piece to the academic success of your child.  I encourage you also to visit our website often, meet with your child’s teachers and become involved in all of our programs and activities.
